I’ve been slacking on the blogo huh peeps?
Sorry… here’s what my weeks been like:
The other day I went to go have a peek around the @TreehausCW Co-Work Space that they share with CTT.
Holy awesomeness Batman, this place is gorgeous, look at the washroom – it’s so cute!

and the kitchen! weirdo braille wall = love.

They had some tasty treats including these hilarious candy kebobs that Bry and I couldn’t resist.

Then last night I was at the UW School of Architecture in Cambridge and there was this giant cyclops eyeball in the foyer. It’s promoting an upcoming event… called The Cyclops. Show is on Friday July 30 and Saturday July 31, 2010. Details are HERE.

And then, my parents picked up their new pup. Ah, hello one of the cutest things ever:
Tonight – CINQ A SEPT!

How was the weekend?
Mine was great .
I held a Boa Constrictor.

Friday night we saw “The Girl who played with Fire” which is the sequel to “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” super weird yet amazing action/mystery movies based on books by Swede Stieg Larsson. I have a special affinity to Sweden at the moment, as my Bestie lives there. I am yet to visit, but one day, it’ll happen.
Saturday, we headed to the Cherry Festival, where we listened to Trap Tigers set (Album release on July 23 at Maxwells!) and I held the giant snake and ate a sno-cone.
Then we did a quick walk through the Non-Violence Festival in Victoria Park, which was pretty quiet.
Sunday we watched Spain beat the Netherlands…
What did you get up to?

Someone lit the new bridge on the iron horse trail (between lai lai and queen) on fire last night.
Dear trouble makers,
Go torch some corporate assholes stuff, not this lovely trail that gets used by the community.
Thanks,
H.

So Magnetic North’s opening show of “Mump and Smoot: Cracked” was INSANE. Like, possibly certifiable. If you like the weird – check out this show FOR SURE.
Tonight there’s a 2 for 1 offer to see “Norman” a tribute to Norman McLaren, canadian artist.
To take advantage of the deal – Use code 061050 at this link: http://ow.ly/1WJIt
Looks like a pretty cool show, you can watch the Youtube vid to get a feel for what you’d be seeing. NORMAN
Pics to come tomorrow!

And Pat the Dog Playwright Centre won – and they’re a great organization – so Congrats Guys!
It was super busy at the pre-show reception & silent auction.

We hit up Bauer Kitchen for a lovely consolation dinner and drinks with the fam and friends – which was absolutely lovely.

After a pretty insane weekend, and 2 very weird but restful weeks – I’m back under the fluorescents today.
Just wanted to share some thanks to some wicked people:
- Emily & Brocko for dropping off some lovely flowers the morning of my surgery – very nice distraction from the anxiety attack that was about to ensue.
- My work crew for sending over flowers – so nice.
- Jody and Conrad at the Bauer Kitchen for sending over 2 pizzas in a cab, when I had to miss Cinq a Sept. lol. Amazing!
- P’s Nana who sent over a very cute get well plant.
- Emily & Chris and Kathy & Glenn for dropping off the EDIBLE ARRANGEMENT. OMG. best. pick-me-up EVER.
- Everyone who sent over BBMs, texts, emails and hellos over the past 2 weeks. You guys are the sweetest, thanks for thinking about me.
So yeah, you guys are amazing. So very very very lucky to have you in my life ;)
Monday Morning Goo- Meter is now full. Have a lovely day and I’ll get back to posting normally this week!

Last week, we were house-sitting out in suburbia.
It was 1 part relaxing and 1 part annoying.
We did take a lovely stroll through the woods though … and went to the park and watched some little kids play with a cool rocket/launchpad thing.
You know the thing I noticed most about spending the week there though?
It is SO QUIET in residential neighbourhoods. I didn’t realize that it was so noisy at night in downtown… with the buses and train… and the people and loud stereos in cars. It doesn’t bother me at all – the hum is kind of soothing… but out of downtown, i could hear a pin drop and it would kind of freak me out. It’s all what you’re used to I guess. I grew up Westvale, it was a super new area at the time, tons of kids… walked to school…. it was great.
I can see the allure.
I think I’ll keep the hum of traffic and the multiple coffee shops within walking distance though.

Tons of events again this week…. i love the spring – people leave their house, they stop being jerks on the expressway in the morning, they talk about what they did on the weekend. It’s lovely.
So a couple things you need to know about for this week will be posted over the next couple days.
I KNOW you already know about the Sustainable Waterloo event tomorrow at the Delta in Kitchener – but if you’d like to register last minute, go HERE before 5pm today.
Also – Cinq a Sept on Thursday at 5pm, Bauer Kitchen!
Mark it in your calendar!

Great night out! If ONLY we would have left at 12:30am like everyone else. hahaha.

Little bit of news in the RQ camp this week -
I was selected to sit on the inaugural board of the Creative Enabling Organization.
The organizations objective is to bring sustainable funding and administrative support to the arts-culture-heritage sector in this area. Roger Farwell is chairing the group – which is awesome – his is a passionate and insightful dude and i’m pretty psyched to work with him.
There will be a lot more details to come in the next couple months, and I’ll be sharing all that I can with you guys.
If you’d like to read more or see who else is on the Board… check out Terry Pender’s article in the Record from Saturday.
