I’ve been meaning to share a couple of my favourite gems from my RSS Reader the past couple days – It feels good to spread the wealth, ya know?

But sadly, i have no time for that today. What i do have time for is 2 of my recent favourites

1. Stuff No One Told Me (but i learned anyways) – amazing little creations with totally true life lessons in them. Like this one:

So true. Thanks for posting  Daejin Media!!! such a great find! and new!

______________

Number 2 on my things of awesome things to share is:

THXTHXTHX which i found through Seth Godin’s blog.

Here’s the description from her ABOUT ME :

Leah Dieterich’s mother always told her to write thank you notes. So she does. To everything.

And she does. And they are so great.

You are so welcome, reader.

Please send me the stuff you like to read.

We chatted with Rob Szabo last week for Episode 13 of The 100.

It was such a good time that this week’s show is 26 minutes!

Sorry :)

Have a listen and let us know what you think!

H

Rob will be performing at the Waterloo Arts Festival in Waterloo Park – check him out at 2pm on Sat and 4pm on Sunday.

Here’s a LINK to listen to the 12th episode of The 100.

I asked people a bunch of questions about the region at last weekend’s Culture Camp – and P cut it into this 7 minute Gem.

Brock drops the Fbomb multiple times in the first 3 minutes, just to show me up.

Like this format better? Less controlled, more random? Let us know.

H.

PS.  Happy weekend, I hear there’s a bunch of musical stuff happening at the concrete slab tomorrow afternoon.

This new site has popped up on the KW radar today – KW NIGHT OUT.

It’s press release and About Us page boasts that it “is the best Kitchener, ON area website that brings you all of your nightly entertaining needs at the click of a mouse.” – but it looks like it stills needs a lot of it’s content generated… so….

That’s all I’ll say about that.

I am in LOVE with the idea of job postings asking for applicants to create a unique way to show how/why they should get a job.

Paper resumes are boring and don’t tell you a goddamn thing about the person applying. It doesn’t even confirm that they can spell or format in Word properly because their Mom probably helped proofread it.

But THIS! It’s the way of the future.

Get on board.

H.

Chris – Nice work and tell Me to We to read this blog post and that they should give you the job because you’re so fucking awesome.  And also, thanks for coming with Mike and Cara for the Long Weekend BBQ, excellent night, even though i had to nap intermittently. Mike – NICE BBQING:

Hey All,

We’re releasing Episode 10 of The 100 early this week, since we’re talking about The Tannery District and there’s some stuff happening tonight.

Have a listen to the podcast by going to HERE or checking it out in iTunes (The 100 Waterloo)

If you’d like to get involved with raising public interest or showing your support for the District – feel free to action one or more of these options:

1. JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP…
And ask your friends to do it too.

2. Work your network. Spread the word, join the conversation. Specifically on WEDNESDAY MAY 19 – Let’s make the Tannery a trending topic in Canada!

“Cadan and City of Kitchener, let’s turn the Tannery into a true district for people.”

Hashtag for twitter #TANNERY

3. Come to the City Council Meeting tonight – 7pm – You don’t even have to speak, just putting butts in the seats will show our support of City council making the right choices :)

I know that all this stuff can seem a bit preachy, or like it’s just talking to a wall, but it REALLY doesn’t have to be.

It’s pretty easy for the public to band together and show they disapprove of something – and it gives a loud and clear signal to the people that make the decisions that they are headed in a direction that may not be what the community wants.

I’ll be there tonight.

Well, The 100 is WAY more interesting when you’re not listening to how annoying the sound of your own voice is!!!

Check out this Episode with Brock and Martin and Emily Robson! They’re talking about cultural planning  - and where Waterloo Region is heading!

There was a contest – but Gavin Fitzpatrick already won the tix – so yeah, you snooze ya lose!

Happy Listening,

H.

Heard of it, yet?

It came up twice in conversation with two different people last night, so i’m guessing it’s “the next big thing.”
Basically, you hook up your webcam, and connect to completely random people over the internet.
Apparently, there is a high propensity for creepos to show you their junk, so…. don’t say i didn’t warn you.
Here’s what the Chat Roulette site says:
Welcome to the world of Chatroulette!
Click “Play” to start the game.

Tips:

• If you are having a bad video connection, enable UDP in firewall or turn your firewall off.
Most likely you don’t need to do this step, as everything should be working well by default.

• If you don’t want to see the “allow/deny webcam” window every time you are connected:
1. Right-click anywhere and select “Settings”.
2. In the second tab, check “Remember” to remember your choice.

Terms of Service:

• You have to be at least 16 years old to use our service

• Chatroulette does not tolerate broadcasting obscene, offending, pornographic material and we will have to block users who violate these rules from using our service

• Please use “Report inappropriate video” link to notify us about inappropriate content and we will take necessary steps
What is our society coming to? Not sure, but i’m here to keep you informed of its demise.
Happy Hunting.

I guess I’m massively behind the ball on this one, but did you know that Sarah Silverman spoke at TED and Chris Anderson kind of lost his mind about her content?

Which was… completely average Sarah Silverman content.
Here’s the article about it.
And Anderson’s blog post response to the whole fiasco.
God i love her.

Did everyone have a lovely Valentine’s Day?

I got this fabulous little dose of sunshine when I checked my inbox.
Many thanks to the talented Ms. Amy Killoran,
previously an overworked and underpaid intern of qatalyst, now a student at Ryerson.
