This new site has popped up on the KW radar today – KW NIGHT OUT.
It’s press release and About Us page boasts that it “is the best Kitchener, ON area website that brings you all of your nightly entertaining needs at the click of a mouse.” – but it looks like it stills needs a lot of it’s content generated… so….
I am in LOVE with the idea of job postings asking for applicants to create a unique way to show how/why they should get a job.
Paper resumes are boring and don’t tell you a goddamn thing about the person applying. It doesn’t even confirm that they can spell or format in Word properly because their Mom probably helped proofread it.
Chris – Nice work and tell Me to We to read this blog post and that they should give you the job because you’re so fucking awesome. And also, thanks for coming with Mike and Cara for the Long Weekend BBQ, excellent night, even though i had to nap intermittently. Mike – NICE BBQING:
Here’s episode 11 of The 100 – where we chat with Ramy Nassar and Adam Lanteigne about their upcoming photo show to support Grand River & Princess Margaret Hospitals.
We also chat about Cycling in Waterloo Region – and a ton of great stuff happening over the next week.
We’re releasing Episode 10 of The 100 early this week, since we’re talking about The Tannery District and there’s some stuff happening tonight.
Have a listen to the podcast by going to HERE or checking it out in iTunes (The 100 Waterloo)
If you’d like to get involved with raising public interest or showing your support for the District – feel free to action one or more of these options:
2. Work your network. Spread the word, join the conversation. Specifically on WEDNESDAY MAY 19 – Let’s make the Tannery a trending topic in Canada!
“Cadan and City of Kitchener, let’s turn the Tannery into a true district for people.”
Hashtag for twitter #TANNERY
3. Come to the City Council Meeting tonight – 7pm – You don’t even have to speak, just putting butts in the seats will show our support of City council making the right choices :)
…
I know that all this stuff can seem a bit preachy, or like it’s just talking to a wall, but it REALLY doesn’t have to be.
It’s pretty easy for the public to band together and show they disapprove of something – and it gives a loud and clear signal to the people that make the decisions that they are headed in a direction that may not be what the community wants.
We talk to Andrew Coppolino about Food in the Region… what we’re known for, why it’s great… how we can support and enjoy or local food system and Andrew talks about a few of the hidden gems in the Kitchener Waterloo.
Plus, the usual event review and previews. Check it out!
We were lucky enough to have Brock Hart join us from his reconnaissance mission of Jupiter’s moon Europa for the first half of this episode – so please pardon the sound quality for the first 8ish minutes. Overall, this week’s episode is a complete gong show. thanks a lot alcohol.
Please let us know what you think! hilary(at)RQmagazine(dot)com
Next Episode: Thursday March 25th!

PS. Thanks to Jennifer King and Renjie Butalid for coming on the show – and to Sunshine Chen for creating the awesome video.
So… i hear these are going to be moving over to the Ignite Waterloo site (i’ll update these links when that happens) but in the meantime, if you’re interested… here’s my Ignite Talk. Prepare to be annoyed. hahahaa.
Just posted the first episode of THE 100 – a podcast series that a couple of us put together… we’ll be exploring 100 things, people, places, events happening in the Region.
Little nervous posting it, not going to lie. Go easy on us people! We have no idea what we’re doing!
And PLEASE if YOU have any interest in getting involved, message me.
In any case, send us some feedback and we’ll get better!

What is our society coming to? Not sure, but i’m here to keep you informed of its demise.
I guess I’m massively behind the ball on this one, but did you know that Sarah Silverman spoke at TED and Chris Anderson kind of lost his mind about her content?
Which was… completely average Sarah Silverman content.
