Ok.
Here’s a couple things you should get on your calendar:

TONITE:
Cinq à sept – Bauer Kitchen – 5:30ish – 8ish. I won’t be by tonight – but you should go and have a drink for me! Apps on the house, as usual :D
Follow the crowd via twitter.

Or. If you feel like heading out for a drive, now that there’s no tornado warnings.
You can go to the #140confONT meetup in Burlington. More details HERE.

I’ll be hitting up a little private party (blog post to come tomrw) and then hopefully checking out this madness:

THE JINKS & THE GIRLY SHOW OMG AMAZING!

TOMORROW:
I’m going for dinner over at PLF and Learn French, Conquer World’s place… so … fend for yourselves! I’ll be spending the evening bugging Fayebot to update her blog at least once a month, and separating Martha from their GIANT dog, Boomer. She is just relentless when it comes to bugging dogs bigger than her… what’s that about? draw your own conclusions. Like dog owner like dog baby?
You might want to go check out the Buskers in Uptown! I heard the adult content is great, and I’ve also heard it suggested you should take a flask… just sayin’

SATURDAY:
Go to the Market in the morning! There’s so much Amazing available right now… you have NO excuse for going to the grocery store. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (preaching complete.)

THEN…. Go check out this!

Sorry for the shit photos, that’s what Facebook gets ya… people… if you want me to post about your shit then send me good jpg images pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseeeeeeeee. Thankyou.

Ok. Happy weekending.

That title is to be sung in your best Elton John voice. OBVIOUSLY.

Tomorrow is Busy!

Here’s my plan -

10am – KITCHENER MARKET. We try and get to the market every other Saturday, almost every Saturday through the summer. It’s pretty much the best ever.

NOON – RALLY FOR RAILS. It is very important that if you support Rapid Transit for Waterloo Region that you come out and support this show of solidarity. We need Rapid Transit in Waterloo Region – i know i’m preaching to the mostly converted here, but for realsies… we gotta get out and make a splash. So if you are around – and realize that our current system can’t support the gazillions of new people that will be moving to the region over the next 20 years, you should come out. Meet at Noon at Speakers Corner in Kitchener – that’s at King and Benton/Frederick.

(sidenote: your truly will be giving a 5 minute little ” What’s Up KTOWN!” address.

Then:

Off to Uptown for the STICHn KITCH HANDMADE SUMMER SALE.

If you’ve never been – you need to go. If you’ve been before, you know how awesome it is, so i’ll see ya there.

Good then, you’re all sorted. 2 weeks till STEELRAILSESSIONS2011!

IT IS A BUSY WEEKEND FRIENDS!

I almost suggest that you stay in tonight and rest up, It’s THAT busy!

Here’s one of the most important events of the Year:

It’s 1 Hour on Sunday. 1 HOUR. That’s all you need to spend to show that you care about 1) the environment 2) our community  and 3) the future.

I know many of us have issues around the map, the cost, who will use it, etc.etc… but this is a super important step in us growing sustainably (yes, i know… not a “real” word). We should not just can it because the pricetag is high!

So come out, support Light Rail Transit as a concept – and we’ll work through the nitty gritty as we get to it!

Ok. Sigh. You can read more about it HERE. and HERE.

Spread the word reasonable people of #Waterloo #Kitchener # Cambridge #Ayr #St.Jacobs #Elora #Elmira #Conestogo #blah #blah #blah…

And… like i need to remind you… TOMORROW. SEVEN SHORES. 9am- 2pm. GIVE ME YOUR EMPTIES, SEVEN SHORES WILL GIVE YOU COFFEE. FOR FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

See you tomorrow!

H.

PS. Oh Yeah! Big Announcement on Monday! (i hope! fingers crossed)

Nov 15

Ok, so it’s only Monday, but you’ve got to plan on getting some sleep during the week friends, here’s what’s going on Nov 18 – 21:

THURSDAY:

WFAC!!!!!!!!!!! Opening night of the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema! http://www.wfac.ca. WFAC is in it’s 10th year and hosts filmmakers from all over the world! It is a one-of-a-kind event, you’ve gotta check it out. The festival runs all weekend! Checkitout!

SATURDAY:

The Art of Yoga at KW|AG with Queen Street Yoga! I was at the first session of this and it was AWESOME! It’s a 2 hour class that walks you through some stretching, meditation and yoga moves, and then once you’re completely chilled out, you take a walk through the gallery and you really see the exhibits in a totally different way. It’s $25 + tax, 2:30 – 4:30, but register asap.

Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is having a catalogue launch from 7-10pm Saturday night. It’s a beautiful space – i highly recommend you check out the Glass Factor exhibit too!

SUNDAY:

The HAIR UNITED show – its a fundraiser for THEMUSEUM and is $25 in advance, or $30 at the door. 10 salons from around the region will strut their stuff and from what I’ve seen the hair is going to be amazing! Doors open at 6pm.

Opera Kitchener is presenting La Boheme! If you’ve never been to an opera, this would be a pretty cool one to check out, Calvary Memorial United. Details here.

And then it’s Monday and you can rest ;)

H.

PS. San Francisco is AWESOME. You should visit.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

SEA LIONS!

Ferry Port Station Thingy

Nov 10

November is a good month – it’s not tooo cold or snowy, it’s not all consumed by family time and there are a 2 very cool local (annual) events that happen. WFAC and Box 10.

This weekend is the BOX 10 Art Show & Sale

Another interesting kw happening is a performance by Da Capo – performances are happening Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. The DaCapo Chamber Choir does very cool music written now (like yesterday)! Not “Churchy” – they’ve even got some saxa-ma-phone thrown into the mix. Here’s a link to find out more about them.

What else, what else?

WLU Free Films is showing M.A.S.H on Thursday night - have you seen the film? it’s not the show… check it out.

And TONIGHT, CAFKA presents Reece Terris talking about Big Ideas in Art & Culture for FREE, at the Rotunda in Kitchener City Hall, 7:30pm – 9pm.  ”Terris’s work spans a variety of media, including sculpture, performance, installation, and photography – allowing him to examine the relationship between constructed architectural spaces and our common experiences and encounters within them. ”

On Saturday night, I’m heading to Empanada Night! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Sorry, you can’t come : (

Then I’m leaving for San Francisco for a week. Be good while i’m away kiddies!

We spent 5 hours of the long weekend doing this goddamn puzzle my Bro gave P for the holidays.

1000 pieces of a blown up black and white photograph = more difficult than you think.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Oh yeah, and another night we ate this giant boat of Sushi.

What did you do?
